Refinishing vs. Installation: What's Best?

Installation requires buying tile, thin-set, grout, and paying for labor and demolition. Refinishing is just one price for the whole job.

Installation takes days. You have the demo day, the tile day, and the grout day. Refinishing is done in one day.

Our industrial coatings are heat resistant and waterproof. They last for years, just like tile.

Why Not Just Install New Tile?

When you pry old tile off the wall, the sheetrock rips with it, forcing you to pay a carpenter to fix the wall before the Tile Contractor even starts. Good luck getting contractors to show up on time in NYC—if you want a fresh look fast, Refinishing is the answer.

FAQs

Do you do actual tile installation?

We focus on refinishing because it saves you money. If you have a wall with no tile at all, call us and we can discuss options, but usually, we cover what is already there.

Does the paint peel off?

It isn't paint. It is a chemical coating. If you follow the care instructions (don't use steel wool!), it won't peel.

Can you change the color of my grout?

Yes. When we refinish, the grout lines get coated too. They become the same color as the tile, or we can do a stone speckle that hides the lines a bit.

Is it cheaper than peel-and-stick?

Peel-and-stick is cheap, but it looks cheap and falls off behind the stove. Our process is permanent and looks professional.
